By law, ballots are mailed to all active registered voters 29 days before Election Day. Remember to sign your name on the envelope. The circular hole near the signature line is a guide to help the voter sign the envelope. If a voter is unable to sign their name, they may sign with an “X” letter or another mark. In this case, a witness must sign below the voter’s signature line.

Stanislaus County offers a Remote Accessible Vote by Mail (RAVBM) system to deliver voter guides and ballots electronically to voters. RAVBM allows individuals with disabilities to use their own assistive technology to vote independently and privately. RAVBM also provides a voting option for any voter who is traveling, lost or damaged a ballot, or didn’t receive a ballot.

VOTE CENTER SERVICES / SERVICIOS DEL CENTRO DE VOTACIÓN
You may bring up to two people to assist you at a vote center. It could be your family or friend but not an employer or union representative. Vote centers also have magnifying glasses and signature guides for your use.
If you need help reading or marking your ballot, you may request to use a Touch Writer. There are three at each vote center. Headphones are provided, and you may also bring your personal assistive device, such as sip and puff, to connect to a Touch Writer. With the Touch Writer, you can listen and/or read your ballot in English and Spanish, make the font size larger or change the color.

Accessible Curbside Voting
Elections staff make sure that all vote centers comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act and are accessible to people who use wheelchairs. However, if you need assistance from your vehicle, look for the “curbside voting” sign and designated parking space at any vote center, and call the number on the sign to ask for help. Election workers can deliver a paper ballot to the curbside voting area at all vote centers. In addition, at the vote centers listed above with , election workers can take an accessible voting machine to your vehicle, which will print a paper ballot after you mark your selections using the machine. After you mark your ballot, election workers will take your paper ballot into the vote center to be scanned.
