Federal Identification Requirements for First-time Voters
Who Register by Mail. |

Stanislaus County Voter:
Please
make sure you send your ballot back in time to arrive here
by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
You are
receiving this notice because the federal Help America Vote
Act requires that people who register by mail and have not
voted in Stanislaus County before must provide us with
identification. Please insert in your return envelope a
copy of one of the types of identification below along with
your ballot. If you do not provide identification, your
ballot will be considered a “provisional ballot” and may not
be counted.

issued to the voter in connection with the
resolution of a criminal case, indictment, sentence,
or other matter;

senior citizen
discount cards issued by public transportation
authorities;

identification
documents issued by governmental disability
agencies;

identification
documents issued by government homeless shelters and
other temporary or transitional facilities;
-
a
drug prescription issued by a doctor or other health
care provider;
-
tax return;
-
property tax
statement;
-
vehicle
registration or certificate of ownership.
